It’s the BFF application form. This one’s been completed by me! Approve me or fail me at your own discretion.

I designed these forms several months ago and they’re finally available to buy in the shop in the form of a 50 page notebook. Buy one today and start gathering BFF applicants!

Here’s a flickr set of all the applicants I’ve collected over the past few months at various events and occasions. All great people! Now devoted BFFs.

Other news:

A sassy interview with me on the Thought Bubble blog.

As well as the BFF forms, I’ve added other new comics and things to the shop, so go and have a look around if you like.

London MCM Expo is next weekend! It coincides with Halloween. I am preparing a costume!

That’s Novel!

“That’s Novel: Lifting Comics from the page!” is an exhibition of British cutting edge comics at the London Print Studio, and My Cardboard Life is in it! Including a huge 3D pop-up comic that I’ve made.

The exhibition is open ’til 18th December, so if you’re in London at any point before then, you should go and see it!

Photos of the 3D comic in its entirety here.

APE 2010, and other news

A new diorama! More pictures here. It’s just a mini one because I’ve got to cram it in my suitcase and drag it from London to San Francisco for APE.

APE is really soon now, it’s this weekend! I’ll be on the TNP Press tables (258-259) with Ali Showkati, Rembrand le Compte, Ryan Hudson and Joenis Norac. I have some new mini-comics to bring with me (which I will take photos of and post here soon). If you’re going to be at APE, do come and meet me!

Here are some other things that I must tell you about…

Some comics that I’ve made are going to be in an exhibition at London Print Studio as part of Comica Festival. It’s called That’s Novel, and here are the details.

If you didn’t see my Bad Machinery guest strip last week then go and see that. John Allison’s characters are the best and I had a lot of fun collage-ifying them.

Additionally… the 400th My Cardboard Life comic is going to appear this week. I’m saving the big party for the 500th comic, but to celebrate 400 I’ll enjoy a glass of apple juice, then stand in front of a mirror and deliver a thumbs up to myself. Feel free to do the same!

Doctor B

Here’s an extra panel that didn’t quite make the cut for today’s comic. Not sure why…

Are you sick of Doctor Bandaid yet? Well that’s okay. Everybody gets sick sometimes and he is a doctor. Back to normal non-bandaid comics next week.

Oh, and if you haven’t voted yet in the naming Colin’s puppy poll, now is the time to do so because I’m going to close the poll on Sunday!

BFF-FM! Pyjamas! Puppy update!

Hello friends! Hello best friends! Hello BFFs and BBFFs! I’ve got a couple of slices of gossip here from the My Cardboard Life news melon…

I was on BFF-FM last Sunday. BFF-FM being the We Are Words + Pictures Radio show hosted by sassy bearded journalist Michael Leader. It was a fun time, and I managed to mention my new leopard print jumpsuit! If you want to listen to it, here is an appropriate place to do so.

It’s about time we decided once and for all what Colin’s Puppy should be called. I’ve rounded up the most suitable name suggestions and made them into a poll on the My Cardboard Life Facebook fan page. You can vote on that here.

Other news: The next convention I’m appearing at is APE which is less than a month away now. I’ve got a lot to do before then! Got a feeling it’s going to be tricky to make five new comics every week during October, so I might have to cut it down to three a week for a while, or have some kind of break for a couple of weeks. I’m not sure yet.

Oh and by the way, that picture of Colin in his pyjamas is completely unrelated to anything. THERE IS NO PYJAMA NEWS! I tricked you!
