The new storyline We’re Out starts on Monday 22nd April. There will be new episodes every weekday (plus preview picture things on Sundays). I’m pretty excited, and a little bit frightened!!

This Saturday it’s Comiket at the Platform Theatre at Central St Martins College of Art and Design in London. It’s free to get in so come and see me! I’ll be sharing a table with Timothy Winchester  which is always fun, but I’m extra looking forward to it this time because he’s going to show me his 3DS-XL!

That’s all my news really but here’s something really fun that I have to show you…

Julie and Jimi dressed up as human versions of Colin and Pauline and recreated one of my comics! Haha! Thanks so much for sending it to me you guys!

2013!

Do we like 2013 so far? It’s too early to tell! What’s coming up this year? Well, The Gold Room gallery  are having an exhibition of my work that opens on the 6th February, so if you live in Southsea or want to visit you can go and see some of my comics and drawings and crochet models in real life!

I’m going to keep the comics update schedule to three a week for the time being, but when I start the new storyline I’ll go back to five a week. Here are the results of the vote:

We’re Out – 175

Puppy School – 66

Treasure in the Arctic – 65

Paper Patisserie – 52

Business Pauline and the Fortune Fax Machine – 48

Dimension of the Ghosts – 46

Weird Undersea – 38

The Town Flyer – 23

RoboBFF – 18

Tantrum – 8

So We’re Out won by quite a long way! Which is good because it’s going to be different to anything I’ve done before. Hopefully I’ll be able to figure it out and start making it within the next few months. Then later in the year I might make one (or more?) of the runner up stories. Probably won’t be making Tantrum though!

What else is going to happen in 2013? We’ll find out soon I suppose. I’m sure I’ll be exhibiting at some comics shows in the year but not made a lot of plans yet so if there’s any that you think I should consider, let me know.

The Recyclost books have arrived. If you’ve pre-ordered a copy I’ll be sending them out right away so expect to see it soon. Thanks so much for ordering it!

I’ll be randomly selecting the winner of the knitted intern TONIGHT at 11pm GMT so there are a few hours left to pre-order and be in with a chance of winning it. Pre-order here.

The knitted intern winner has now been chosen and pre-orders are now normal orders!

The Recyclost book is on it’s way. This is going to be the front and back covers. It’s not time for the pre-order yet but if you like, you can have a wallpaper for your desktop or phone

Fullscreen

Widescreen

phone

Hopefully those are big enough for any size screen you might have.

One more picture I want to show you…

I’ve made some models of Clopsy the horse. I’m going to have these for sale at Birmingham Zine Festival next weekend (13th October). Also whilst at Birmingham Zine Festival I’m going to be on one of the “Make it Then Tell Everybody” panels, so come to Birmingham and see me and my Clopsys.

Recyclost Completed

by Philippa Rice on September 11, 2012 at 12:43 am

Recyclost finished last week, so if you want to read it as a full completed story you can start from the beginning here.

I’m putting together a book version now which should be available for pre-ordering some time in October. The original plan was for it to be in exactly the same format as St Colin and the Dragon, but when I actually wrote it, it was almost twice as long so I’m going to do something different. There will still be a bonus comic strip at the back though, I promise!

Additional news:

As well as Recyclost I’ve also been working on another comic called Looking Out, which is also a Science Fiction story but in every other way it’s totally different to Recyclost (it’s all actual drawings, no collage!) You can see some preview pages of it here on my portfolio site if you’re interested. It’s being published by Hic and Hoc in November.

The next comics show I’m going to be at Birmingham Zine Festival on 13th October. If you can get to Birmingham that weekend you should come along. It’s going to be really good!

I’m not going to be at SPX next weekend (I wish I was, but maybe next year?!) but if you are going, look out for my comics at the Hic and Hoc table.

That’s all the news (for now). There’s no comics this week because I’ve been catching up on other tasks but I’ll be returning to normal updates on 17th September.
