Say Cheese
Now I’m no photography expert, but I believe you’re supposed to say “cheese” for photographs because the extended “eee” sound makes your face look like it’s smiling. Logical.
But not so logical any more, because digital cameras take forever to actually take the photo. You have to say “cheeeeeeeese” for ages. It’s embarrassing!
So, what we need is, a new “cheese” for the digital age. I suppose it ought to be a phrase rather than one word, so that it takes up all that time. And it’s got to end on an “eeee” sounding word such as “please” or “disease”. Any ideas?
Oh and by the way. I ate both of those cheeses immediately after scanning the comic.
poor cheeses!! saying cheese for their last photo ever and not knowing it!
hmm..a new age cheese phrase..
“We Like to eat cheeeeeeese, can I have some more pleeeeeeeaaaaasssee?”
two eeeee’s in case the flash goes early! or later
I would like to extend on I Love Colin’s one: We like to eat cheeeeeeeeeeeeese, can I have some more pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaase, or I shall give you a diseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaase!!!!
When we took photos to promote a musical, the photographer told us to say “Whiskey!” It actually works better than “cheese.”
the “eee” in ‘whiskey’ is more open, making a more natural smile, as opposed to the restricted “eese” in ‘cheese.’ (:
That’s a huge babybel!
what about “1+2=threeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee”?
colin and his camera. (:
Ha ha, I love it! Just discovered your work this week and love it so much I had to blog about it, hope you don’t mind! http://domestikated.wordpress.com/2010/09/13/clever-cardboard/
Cheese!!
Eeeeny meeeny miny Cheeeeeese!
I think Dane Cook would say: “And the Lord ate Reeeses Piece-eeeys. I have a piece of lint on my peaceful eye.” That’s sounds like enough “eeee” sounds to me
Just so you know, when you hit the big time (and you will, MCL is fabulous) there are great digital cameras that take photos FAST. I finally got one (when I was 48!) and it is heavenly. You could have people say “Drinking whiskey makes me frisky.” and get 8 shots out of that one sentence.
“please, no diseased cheese”
I reviewed this ages ago: http://365zines.blogspot.com/2010/06/eco-dwellings.html
Anyway, nice to see you again in Birmingham. I hope you had a good time at the festival!
How about chronic obstructive pulmonary disease? Freedom of the seas? Suicide squeeze? Or maple syrup urine disease? Thanks, RhymeZone.
So why can’t you just ask people to smile?
When I take photographs, I sometimes say “Say syphiliiis!”
This usually makes at least genuine looking smiles
I would have eaten the Babybel, too — it’s my favorite cheese snack!
“Oh and by the way. I ate both of those cheeses immediately after scanning the comic.”
You do realize that one of them is past its expiry date?
(haha, made you look.)
haha looove it
now i’m craving cheese so bad
i loooooooooove babybel
I’ve never had Babybel cheese before! I always see the ad on TV and it’s so catchy! It must be deliciously creamy, as they say!
When I was getting photographs taken, the lady told us to say “Tuesday”.
Hey wait, shouldn’t Colin say something like.
Colin: “Saaayy people!”
Cheese: “People!!!”
