It’s cockney rhyming slang, short for “Berkeley Hunt”. You can figure out the rest.

Have you ever seen the episode of Pingu where he meets a seagull that just acts like a jerk? I think you’d like it – http://is.gd/26fku

Again with that stupid jerk bird. Now he has the nerve to call Collin a berk.

Okay… that bird’s not only evil, but insulting too! Or it’s got indidgestion, but can’t spell…

For non-Brits calling somebody “berk” means something similar to “jerk”, … it’s supposed to derive from the rhyming slang phrase “Berkely Hunt” and I think you can work that out for yourselves, but calling someone a berk is far less offensive!

Maybe Colin could get a kite with a picture of a hawk or falcon on it as they use cutouts of these birds to dissuade seagulls from feeding around rubbish dumps and using public areas here in the UK (a bit cheaper than using a falconer with the real thing!). Mind you that seagull is so nasty, he’d probably just laugh at it :(

I think it works even if I didn’t know what “berk” means. I took it as “bird-gibberish,” and I laughed. Nice and simple.
